In most cases, facility permitting requires no more than a 60 day permit approval process. Several major environment services companies are headquartered in the Indianapolis Region that serve a variety of waste management and emission control needs.

Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM)

Environmental protection in Indiana has come a long way since 1986, when the Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) was established. Since then, IDEM has grown to a staff of 900, and employs some of Indiana's most qualified engineers, scientists and environmental project managers specializing in air, land, pollution prevention and water quality issues. Staff members work hard to provide quality environmental oversight and technical assistance in communities and around the state.

IDEM's Compliance and Technical Assistance Program (CTAP) provides technical and compliance assistance on environmental regulations and education about existing and new regulations.

The Indy Partnership Business Development Team serves as a liason to the Indiana Department of Environmental Management for companies and consultants. Our experienced team understands the specific Indiana regulations that apply to prospect businesses and can assist with navigating permitting and compliance.
