Planes Companies
Whether relocating your family to another part of the country or around the world, whether transporting computer equipment to a satellite office or designing a new office space, whether moving overseas for business or just across town to a new office complex; knowing where you’re going is one thing. Knowing how to get there is quite another. Different types of moves do not require different relocation companies; that’s why Planes Companies pack all the services you need into one company.
Planes Moving and Storage, founded in 1921, is an independently-owned, privately-held company headquartered in Cincinnati with four other locations in Indianapolis, Chicago and two other Ohio locations in Dayton and Columbus. In 1981, Planes became an owner-agent for United Van Lines, purchasing shares in the company and increasing its fleet to operate both locally and nationally. John Planes, current CEO, was named to United Van Lines’ Board of Directors in 1991 and still retains this position today. Planes has grown exponentially from providing basic moving services in the Cincinnati-area into a $100 million full-service relocation company with a menu of comprehensive services that include household, office and logistics moving on local, national and international levels. Even as a top 5 agent for United Van Lines, Planes is still building off its initial solid foundation, allowing for continual growth and financial stability.
Planes’ experience as a relocation industry leader is a direct result of quality processes developed to put the customer first. Even after 89 years in the relocation industry, Planes’ continuous goal is to “improve everything we touch” throughout all service offerings for Complete Customer Satisfaction. Proactive Quality Management (PQM) is a true, customized quality process derived from quality concepts such as Six Sigma, ISO 9000 and Deming’s “Total Quality Management” model. The PQM process is based on Deming’s five components of a quality program: measurability, evaluation, accountability, corrective action/ongoing training and timely rewards. These components of PQM ensure that quality standards are met in every aspect of every Planes’ service offering. Customers’ perception of service is any company’s indicator of success; that’s why Planes’ customer service is built around this quality process.
